Along with the rain I've noticed quite a few more obvious signs of spring. On Saturday, I saw robins. Red breast and all! The cardinals who live in the thickets at forest around our home are singing out their mating calls. The canes of our hedge are turning green. Finally, my tulips and daffodils are either peaking through or have grown at least an inch or two!
My husband and I also spent most of yesterday setting up our grow stand in the kitchen. Last year we put it in the basement. This year we decided that wasn't the best idea, because last year it ended up being an 'out of sight out of mind' thing and we neglected some of our young sprouts a bit. Meaning: some plants got leggy. :/ This year I don't want that to happen! In addition to setting up the grow stands we sowed quite a few varieties of flowers. They'll all take a while to germinate, so don't worry they're on schedule! I'm excited to see little green seedlings in a week or two. You can see our set up and more at my hubby's blog Sheltering Woods.
